Security, Privacy & Responsible Use

AI data use

What AI features read, what they can change, and how to use them safely.

What AI features read

AI in ComplyNestly operates on your company's own records: employees, credentials, requirements, derived status, and documents you upload for extraction. Answers are grounded in your real, current data rather than general knowledge.

Where AI is used

  • Credential extraction from an uploaded document at creation time.
  • AI Compliance Brief on the Dashboard, and Executive Compliance Brief on Reports.
  • Explain Compliance on the matrix and on individual action items.
  • Renewal review summaries and drafted employee communications.
  • Ask ComplyNestly, Copilot priorities, and Change Intelligence.
  • Report narratives and the AI Change Narrative.

What AI cannot do

  • It cannot create, edit, approve, reject, or delete records.
  • It cannot send a message. Drafts require you to edit and explicitly send.
  • It cannot reach another company's data — the same isolation applies to AI features as to every other surface.

Using AI safely

  • Verify AI-suggested credential fields before saving, especially expiration dates.
  • Confirm figures before repeating them externally.
  • Edit drafted communications before sending.
  • Do not treat AI output as legal, regulatory, or licensing advice.
