Roles and permissions
What owners, admins, and managers can each do, and how manager scoping works.
ComplyNestly has three roles. Every account belongs to exactly one company and holds one role in it.
Owner
- Everything an admin can do.
- Rename the company under Settings → Workspace.
- Trigger a manual reminder test run.
Admin
- Manage the team: invite members, change roles, assign locations.
- Manage locations.
- Manage billing, including plan changes and cancellation.
- Configure Employee Portal and Renewal Autopilot settings.
- Create and edit requirements, credential types, and role templates.
- Full access to employees, credentials, matrix, reports, renewals, and AI features on a paid plan.
Manager
- See and work with employees at their assigned locations only.
- Add and edit employees and credentials within that scope.
- Review and decide on renewals and portal submissions within that scope.
- View requirements, but not create or edit them.
- No access to team management, locations, billing, or portal and autopilot settings.
Choosing a role
- Admin — someone accountable for company-wide compliance configuration.
- Manager — a site or team lead who works their own people's credentials day to day.
