Assigning requirements
Apply role templates and direct requirements to employees, and understand how they combine.
Assign a role template
- 1Open the employee's profile.
- 2In the roles section, add the role template that matches their position.
- 3Every credential type in that role immediately becomes a requirement for this employee.
An employee can hold more than one role. All of their roles contribute requirements.
Add a direct requirement
- 1Open the employee's profile.
- 2In the direct requirements section, add the credential type.
- 3The requirement applies to this employee only.
Use direct requirements for genuine exceptions — a site-specific certification, a temporary obligation, or someone whose duties do not fit an existing role.
Effective requirements
Role-based and direct requirements are combined into one set of effective requirements per employee. A credential type required by both a role and directly is still a single requirement, and the profile shows which source or sources call for it.
Removing requirements
- Remove a role to drop every requirement it contributed, unless another role or a direct requirement also calls for the same type.
- Remove a direct requirement to drop it from that employee only.
- Removing a credential type from a role template affects every employee assigned that role.
Roles and direct requirements are assigned one employee at a time. There is no bulk assignment action.
